We‘ll be meeting at Moon Motorsports this month! Moon has kindly offered to serve food at 6:00 and the meeting will start at 7:00pm. See below for information about our presenter tonight, Jen Gunnarson. Camaraderie at 6:00 and meeting at 7:00pm From a Sport Touring Bike to an Adventure Bike, and all of the Fantastic Roads, it has taken me. My name is Jen Gunnarson, and I am a compassionate realtor by day. On my nights and weekends, I am a motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys nothing more than watching a sunset from the vantage point of a motorcycle. Living on a horse hobby farm during my youth, my father was always working on ATVs, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles, so we always had machines riding around on the back forty home-built track. So technically, I grew up riding dirt in one of its various forms, including gravel roads. Only after marriage, four beautiful children, and building my real estate career did I realize the desire to ride power toys was still there. I found a gently used Yamaha FZ07, took the MSF certification classes, and started back on my riding journey. It has been three years, and I have gained confidence in tackling long distances through the worst elements. I recently climbed Powderhorn Mountain in Michigan‘s UP aboard a Versys 300X and toured a lot on an R1200RS. After participating in Moons Adventure Day a few years ago, I got my first taste of dual sport riding. By next year‘s Adventure Day event, I had traded my R1200RS for an F750GS and helped guide the HWY 1 from Ely to Finland day trip. Later in the fall, I participated in Moon‘s AdventureFest event in the UP, where I got to take the Shawn Thomas and Louise Parker-led adventure riding skills workshop. My story of a newer rider to a passionate adventure rider has been unexpected for me, but one that has brought me some incredible experiences that I am excited to share with you.

The Bonzai Road Rally is best described to those who have never tried a road rally as an oversized treasure hunt. The goal of the Rally Master is to encourage participants to ride some of the best motorcycle roads in the upper Midwest by providing a set of of unique and interesting bonus locations (places) which they must find. At the end of the rally day, riders return to rally HQ with stories and memories. If you like motorcycle riding and would like to try a motorcycle road rally, the Bonzai would be an excellent rally to start with. Many of riders return year after year to this event.
