Hi, BMW club members! March has been busy for our BMW club. Here is the latest news and updates.
Quilt Raffle
We started selling tickets for our exciting quilt raffle at the banquet in February. Tickets are $5 each and you can buy them from our club officers. (You need to buy them in person and we accept cash or checks.)
Click
here to learn more about the raffle.
Mileage Contest
Our annual club mileage contest kicks off on April 1. See an email that Dan Elasky sent March 20 for details about how to submit your MOA or club mileage start form. We are going to run the start of the 2024 contest online using email.
We will not be meeting to manually collect mileage forms. As in 2023, we welcome club members to submit their mileage on non-BMWs.
Upcoming Events
Click
here to check out the event calendar at our club website, including our April and May meetings, a riding course May 18, and member-led group rides (you must be logged in to view these).
Weekday Camping
Curt Henry is organizing the Weekday Camping Special Interest Group (SIG). Curt is planning overnight campouts, starting in April or May (depending on the weather). We will ride to the campout Tuesday and then ride home Wednesday.
Think of the nicest camping spot in the state, now toss that out of your brain because that's not where you're going! You're going to where when the sun goes down the buzzing mosquitoes sound like the warming up of a jet engine. Just kidding, but we will stay off the beaten path and travel to interesting locations. Stay tuned for more details.
Hiawatha Rally
Our annual rally is May 31-June 2 this year at Money Creek. Click
here to register for the rally and save $10 off the onsite registration fee.
When you register, also
sign up to volunteer. This event doesn't happen without volunteers and we are putting this on not for ourselves but for all the MOA members that come from across the country to take part in the best local rally in the country!
MOA Rally
The national BMW MOA rally is June 13-15 in Redmond, Oregon. We have reserved a chartered club campsite and are renting a large tent, tables, and chairs to host our club members. I look forward to seeing many of you there.
Sunshine Coordinators
Curt and Judi Quiner are our new Sunshine Coordinators. They replace Eve Benedix, who served for many years in this position. If you know of a club member who has experienced the loss of a family member, a serious illness, an accident, or other serious life issue, please let the Quiners know. They will send a card on behalf of our club.
You can look up their email on the Contact Us page of our club website.
Enjoy your spring rides!.
